Award-Winning Picture of a Xeno Crab
Xeno Crab (Xenocarcinus tuberculatus) Other Names are whip coral spider crab.
A very tiny and elusive crab which is very hard to find while scuba diving.
Max Size is around 20mm in length.
This species is found on black whip corals, Sometimes in pairs, but can be in groups as juveniles. Its carapace is spiky and often covered by polyps of its host for better camouflage. Its color depends on the color of its host. It tends to stay on the same whip coral for a longer period of time.
