Many Sharks have spiracles. A spiracle is a small gill-like hole behind the eye of a shark that opens into their mouth. They are found in all cartilaginous fish, except requiem sharks, hammerhead sharks, and chimaeras.
Spiracles are used to take in water and ventilate the gills, even while the shark may be feeding or at rest on the bottom
