Picture of a Fireworm Chloeia flava
Chloeia flava, also known as the golden fireworm, is a segmented bristleworm. It grows to a max of 7-10 cm in length.
This worm is an active carnivore, especially at dawn and dusk. Its diet consists of coral polyps, sponges, sea anemones, hydroids and tunicates.
Do not touch bristleworms! Their bristles are very thin and will embed in your skin, causing a severe itch.
