Picture of a juvenile Barracuda School
Juvenile Chevron Barracuda school. As they are young and small they hunt and stay in a school as there is more chance to survive, later on in live if they grow over a certain size they often become solitary and cannibals as there is not enough food to gather in a Barracuda school.
Barracudas are masters in speed and hunt with a speed of up to 50km/h.
Reproduction of Barracudas is largely unknown but exhibits external fertilization, where they release eggs and sperm into the currents, which then after fertilization enter the estuaries. After fertilization, the larvae will remain in the estuary until they mature.
